M/s Infra-D Consultants and M/s CADMUS Group, in partnership with USAID, are working on a significant project regarding pesticide evaluation and safe use in Pakistan. The project involves updating the Programmatic Pesticide Evaluation Report and Safe Use Action Plan (PPERSUAP) from 2014. This update is crucial for ensuring compliance with U.S. Government environmental regulations, particularly outlined in 22 CFR 216, USAID Environmental Procedures.

The scope of the project encompasses various aspects of pesticide use, including procurement, handling, transportation, application, and disposal. The Initial Environmental Examination will assess the economic, social, and environmental risks and benefits associated with planned pesticide use to determine potential significant impacts. This examination is essential for identifying alternative and mitigating measures, promoting integrated pest management (IPM), and addressing concerns related to environmental and human health risks, as per the procedures outlined in 22 CFR 216.

Overall, the project aims to enhance pesticide management practices in Pakistan, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while promoting sustainable and safe pesticide use for agriculture, construction, health, water, and other sectors.
